How I made Over $1000 With Linqia In A Month

Many of us started blogging to chronicle our lives, or share a hobby, or just as an outlet for our thoughts, without giving monetization any thought. There are many ways to make money from your blogging: through affiliate marketing, your own product, ads, sponsorship, etc. Today I’ll share with you how I made a bit over $1000 in a month with Linqia.

How To Monetize Your Blog With Linqia

What Is Linqia And How Can I Make Money With It?

As I mentioned above, one of the ways you can make money with your blog is through sponsored posts. You can find these by reaching out to brands on your own, or by signing up with an influencer network. Linkia connects influencers (that’s us, bloggers) with brands. What does that do for brands?

  • increase awareness about their products
  • launch a product
  • grow their audience
  • increase sales

This is where you come in: if you have the right audience for a brand, you can work together for mutual benefit.

Linqia is a pay per click (PPC) netwok, which means you make as much money as you are able to drive traffic to the brand during a specific time frame. I first heard of Linqia about a year ago, and dismissed it, because I thought I could never send enough traffic to make it worthwhile.

But I was wrong! I applied some time in November and was accepted into the program in December. I also got my first campaign in December. I’ve since applied for a second account (for another site) and been accepted in it as well. I’ve done 2 campaigns in this second account in the past 2 months and made over $1000 in the last month.

Want to sign up for Linqia now? Here’s my link.

Do I qualify to work with Linqia?

They do have some criteria you need to meet before you can be accepted, but it’s not hard. When you go to the sign up page, there’s a pop-up that will ask you a few questions before you can apply. Here’s a screen short for you:

Here are the requirements you need ot fulfil before applying to Linqia

If you can take care of these requirements, go ahead and  apply. Fill out your profile completely, since that’s how they’ll know what campaigns to send you. And watch your email for a reply from Linqia. Once you are approved, you should start getting invited to campaigns that fit in with your audience.

I received invitation on both of my accounts within the first month after applying. When you get an offer, you’ll need to accept it and the terms that come whit it. Make sure you read that email carefully, as you need to do some very specific things as part of your campaign (nothing too hard, but you need to make sure you can perform).

Some people didn’t get an offer for several months. If you don’t get your first campaign offer in the first 30 days after being accepted,  I suggest you contact Linqia and inquire about any campaigns that fit your audience. Make sure you tell them a bit about your audience in that contact email. Be proactive for best results!

How Much Money Can I Make With Linqia?

How much money you can make depends on the size of your audience. For my first campaign on both accounts I made less than $200. You are initially offered a smaller number of clicks (clicks you need to send to the brand). Depending on how well you do, your next campaign can make you a lot more money.

Here’s an example from my second account, which is a gardening site. My first campaign had a limit of 124 clicks because of my small audience. My blog only gets around 200 visitors a day, and I have a Facebook page with about 15K followers.

I delivered those 124 clicks in the fist 2 days of the campaign (usually campaigns last about a month). But I didn’t stop promoting: I continued sharing my blog post and campaign links to my FB audience. I ended up sending 1349 visitors to the brand’s site before the end of the campaign.

Yes, I only got paid for the first 124 clicks. But 3 days after that campaign was over, I was invited to another one, from the same brand. This time they increased my visitors allowance to 737.

As you can see, how much money you make only depends on you. If you work hard at building an engaged audience, and doing what you can for your brands, you’ll be rewarded.

Linqia Has An Affiliate Program

Another way to make money with Linqia is through their affiliate program. For every person you recommend (and gets accepted) you get $5. When they finish their first campaign, you also make 15% of their earnings (one time only).

I happened to invite a blogger with a large audience, and their first campaign gave me more than $100.

So, between my own campaigns and the money from my referral, I made close to $1200 in a month.

I find it very easy to work with Linqia, and hope I gave you a glimpse into what YOU can do too.

7 Ways I Will Boost My Online Income This Year

Every now and then it is good to evaluate how your marketing efforts are working with your website. Is your website doing all that it can do for you? If not, then you may want to re-evaluate your website structure. Today I’ll share 7 ways I plan to boost my online income this year.

7 Ways I Will Boost My Online Income This Year

You should ask yourself one question: is my site relevant? If you are using SEO to create page titles, tag lines and anchor text within content, then you are on the right track. But, even an informational website can do more to pay for itself and create income for your business.

7 Ways I Will Boost My Online Income This Year

  1. Affiliate programsAffiliate marketing is one of the easiest ways to boost online income. You can promote products that are complementary to yours on your website. Each time someone clicks on the links, they are directed to that site. You are credited based on the way the program is set up. Choose an affiliate program with a full toolbox of aids to help with your promotion and also incentives for top sellers.
  2. Create a newsletter – This encourages others to read and share your site. It is also one way to build your list of potential customers. Create an opt-in page where they can enter their name and email address in exchange for a free monthly newsletter in their in-box.
  3. Use clear navigation – Include a site map so visitors can see at a glance what your site has to offer. Use buttons that clearly tell customers what action you want them to perform. This way there will be no doubt in their minds. Your buttons can be a “call to action” for affiliate programs and your own products.
  4. Showcase your products – Create an online store or catalog where visitors can see your products and read a description before they buy. Offer deals where they can get free items for buying certain products, or referral bonuses.
  5. FAQs page – This is where they can find out about you and your customer service. Use it to answer commonly asked questions so that you aren’t saddled with emails all containing obvious inquiries.
  6. Guest blogging – When you blog for others, you get exposure to a new audience, and links back to your site. A win-win for everyone.
  7. Look around – Find the sites that are the most popular in your niche and on the internet at large and see how they are using their website to maximize earnings. Try a few pages from their book and see how it works for you 😉

Of course, if you are serious about earning more online, join a mastermind group and focus! The ladies at Pajama Affiliates, Robin and Lesley have helped me focus like never before.

How to Find Topics to Write About

business ideasThe best way to find topics to write about is to start from the beginning with the minutia about your niche. Don’t assume your audience has already seen everything or that you can’t tell them about it in a new way. Even if other people are talking about the same thing, you will do it differently and appeal to your own audience.

  • Forums and Message Boards – Find out which forums your audience uses and go there and observe. What are they talking about? What are the titles they give their new posts? Use this information to formulate ideas of what to write about.
  • Read Comments on Other Blog Posts – Read industry blog posts, and then read the comments. What is the audience saying? What questions are they asking? You can use these questions and comments as fodder for new blog posts and articles.
  • Questions Asked by Others in Groups – Both LinkedIn and Facebook have groups that you can join. Find groups that consist of your ideal audience and observe what they are talking about. These are all ideas for blog posts.
  • Read Industry News – Subscribe to online and offline magazines for your industry so you can keep up to date on new technology and information. This will help you with increasing your knowledge so that you can find more topics to write about.
  • Keep a Swipe File – You don’t want to plagiarize so be very careful, but use something like to keep a file full of interesting quotes and information that you can use to write about.
  • Brainstorm – At least weekly, sit down and give yourself 15 minutes on a timer to list everything that you can think of to write about. Keep in Evernote or on a publication calendar that you can make with Excel, and upload to Google Drive.

Finally, it can’t be said enough that it’s essential to keep notes at all times. If you don’t keep notes, you will not remember what you thought about while you were showering, shopping, or out with your friends. Keeping a running list of ideas that come to mind, then doing research on those ideas, you’ll be sure to have plenty of content to write about when you’re ready to sit down and write.

Blogging Your Way to Success

girl bloggingOne of the most popular methods of marketing on a shoestring is blogging. Blogging is a very powerful, though long-term, marketing method that gets results. It’s important that your blog is on your website and not on an external blogging site where they own the content. You want to own all your own content.

Nine Tips to Making It Work

Blogging is one of the most powerful ways to market your business on a shoestring budget if you know what you’re doing. It may take some practice before you get good at it, and it will definitely take perseverance. But if you have that, you can get a lot of business by simply blogging your way to success.

  1. Blog Regularly – It’s important that you update your content on a regular basis, and at first you should shoot to fill your blog with content three to five times a week. Once you have over 300 pages, you can cut down to weekly blogs.
  1. Know Your Audience – Before you write a single blog post, it’s essential that you know who your audience is, what their problems are and how you can solve them. Plus, you need to know how all that ties in with your products and services.
  1. Understand Your Niche – Study all you can about your niche, including your competition and the industry as a whole. The more you know, the more you can share with your audience, and the more valuable of a resource you become.
  1. Include Keyword-Rich Titles – Going nuts with keywords is no longer necessary, but you should still use them in titles, headers, and subtitles. This will enable search engines to locate the content but it will also intrigue your audience.
  1. Make the Content Unique – The content on your blog and website should be 100 percent unique to you. You can check it using software like or
  1. Share Other People’s Content – An exception to unique content is that you can share other people’s content if you do it right. Include a blurb about the content you’re sharing, and link to it where it was originally posted.
  1. Keep Your Comments Open – A great way to encourage user-generated content is to ask for comments and then comment back to people. You can have entire discussions right on the blog in the comments.
  1. Use Relevant Images – An image is worth a thousand words, as they say, so you should be using them to help explain your message to your reader.
  1. Use a Variety of Formats – Don’t just use one type of blog post. Try to use a lot of different formats and types of content for your blogs, such as “how to” posts, long-form posts, guides, vlogs and more.

Using these tips will help you market your business on a shoestring using blogging. Blogging regularly, in a relevant manner, will bring your audience to you. But you also need to remember to promote the things you publish. Just like you promote your YouTube videos, promote your blogs regardless of which form or type they happen to be in.

Dream of Being a Blogger? The First Thing You’ll Need is a Great Web Domain Name!

This is a Guest Post by Nicole Dean

More and more moms are getting into the blogging scene. Some for fun, some for profit, and some for both. Why not make money while you’re blogging about your favorite stuff, right?

It’s easier than ever to get started blogging. But the first thing you need before you begin is an idea for your domain name.

What is a domain name?

It’s the “www (dot) SOMETHING (dot) com” that people will type in to get to your blog. It’s like your address.

There are some standards for what is a “great” domain name, though, verses one that makes you wonder what on earth that person was thinking!

In order to help you to come up with a great web name that you’ll love for years, here are my unbreakable rules for choosing a domain.

  1. No hyphens. Avoid dashes and hyphens. I’ve been there. Done that. Regret it to this day.
  2. No numbers. Do I spell it out “seven” or is it the number “7??
  3. Avoid words that are difficult to spell. Although I once was really excited about using a domain with the word “catalyst” in it – I found that no one could spell the darned thing.
  4. Domain should end in .com. I don’t bother with other endings like .info or .biz. People tend to type in .com at the end of everything, so it’s usually best to stick with a .com ending.
  5. Domain must NOT have any copyright names in it. I would not recommend using “Starbucks”, “Disney”, or any other company name in your URL or you may get a “cease and desist” email. Yes, even though you’re starting as a little mom blogger, eventually you might get huge. So, it’s best to plan for success in advance and avoid using trademarks in your URL.
  6. If you are looking to sell your blog down the road, it must be generic enough. For instance, I wouldn’t buy “” to talk about my favorite football team if I planned to sell the site ever, because I’d have to find someone named Nicole to buy it.
  7. And my big, bad unbreakable rule.: it must pass the Oprah test.

What exactly is the Oprah test? Well, I picture Oprah saying it out loud. “Today I have with me, Nicole Dean, author of Blah blah blah and owner of”. Is it memorable? Easy to spell?

You can’t do that with

Why is this Important?

A difficult domain is actually wasted opportunity and wasted traffic slipping through your fingers. If you’re promoting via audio or video (maybe on podcasts or on YouTube) – you need a domain that is EASY to remember. It has to make it into the person’s ears and to his brain and stick. Heck, even if you run into an old college friend and say “Stop by my site www (dot) somethingcool (dot) com” – you’ll want her to remember long enough to actually come to your blog, right? So, make it simple. Make it memorable. And you’ll be glad.

Plus, honestly, it’s a credibility issue. Would you really buy something from I hope you wouldn’t even think of getting out your credit card for a site like that. SCARY. And would you feel comfortable referring it to your friends? Not a chance.

How do you get a domain?

You can get a domain at which is also my recommendation for Web Hosting. As you sign up for your domain, you can get hosting at the same time. And… they’ll even set up your blog for you for only $10. Plus, there’s a phone number that you can call if you have any questions.

With all of that help, there’s nothing stopping you from setting up your first blog.

I hope this has been helpful. And, I really look forward to seeing YOU on Oprah!
