Niche Market Research

Do you have trouble researching new niche markets? It doesn’t have to be difficult: you just need to apply a little common sense and a few practical tips.

Here are some good places to start your online niche market research:

Forums and Discussion Boards – These are great sources for finding out what people want and need. Read through a forum related to your topic and see what people are discussing. Look particularly at what problems and issues they may be having.

You can even join in and ask questions to learn more about your market. It’s important that you read the rules of each individual forum and apply proper forum etiquette to avoid being banned. If in doubt, just remember the basic rules of etiquette: don’t take more than you give, be polite and courteous to all members, don’t use someone else’s space as your advertising medium, and just be nice.

Amazon.com – I highly recommend this website as a good starting point for research. Take a look at all the different categories on Amazon – do you see your potential niche listed? Look through the books and products for each niche and take a few minutes to read the customer feedback and reviews.

Amazon is a fantastic source of knowledge and spending just a few minutes there can provide many answers about your potential niche market.

Ezinearticles.com – This is another great website for getting to grips with different niche markets. You’ll find a number of niche markets to choose from. Take time to look through the different author websites to get an idea of what products or services they’re promoting.

Magazines – Magazines are great for market research. If a magazine is on the stand it means it’s being funded by advertisers. And we all know businesses don’t continually advertise unless they’re making money.

Take a look through the advertising section in your niche magazines. What products are on offer? How are they being promoted. This will give you a good idea for the viability of your potential niche.

Take a poll – If you already have a website and/or subscriber base you’re one step ahead of the game because you can directly ask your readers and visitors what it is they want to see. People are always happy to provide feedback so don’t miss this opportunity for tapping into potential further products and services for your market.

Do you use any other methods to research niche markets? Please share your thoughts.

How to Choose an Internet Marketing Affiliate Program

With the advent of the Internet, making money from your home no longer has to be a dream scenario. You can create an online business for yourself and become involved with an Internet marketing affiliate program. Creating an online business is often stressful task, but the Internet makes the process much easier.

An Internet marketing affiliate program is a method of marketing that makes use of one website in order to drive web traffic to another one. So, a business will recompense an affiliate each time a customer is driven to the website or purchases a product because of the affiliate’s advertising endeavors. The marketing modes most commonly used by internet marketing affiliate programs are search engine optimization, paid search engine marketing, e-mail marketing, and display advertising.

As a word of caution, however: make sure you thoroughly research each affiliate program before you sign up. There shouldn’t be any tie-ins or hidden terms and conditions waiting to trap you. I’ve heard horror stories of people whose commissions were kept because they didn’t make a certain number of sales, even though the amount of commission was quite large.

There are programs with great commission, but poor conversion, and there are programs with lower commissions, but great conversion. See what other affiliates are saying about a merchant before you start promoting them.  A good placed to do that is the ABestWeb forum.

Also, it’s important to talk to the affiliate manager, and see if they are willing to help you grow your business. Some couldn’t care less, while others will get out of their way to help.

Some of the most popular places to find affiliate offers to promote are:

Clickbank.com

CJ.com

ShareASale.com

Pepperjam.com

An affiliate program can be a very effective method of boosting the sales of your online business and consequently, making you more money.

Niche Affiliate Marketing

super affiliates handbook

Affiliate marketing is a great way for online business owners to boost sales. It is also a great money-making method for those of us who are interested in working from home to use. But your marketing strategy should be thoroughly researched and well thought out because if not, there is a good chance that you will end up losing more money than you will take in.

An important aspect of successful affiliate marketing is establishing what the best niche is for you.

Affiliate marketing is an Internet-based marketing tool that uses one website to drive web traffic to another and is built on the idea of revenue sharing. With this type of marketing, a business will compensate an affiliate every time a visitor or customer is driven to the website as a result of the affiliate’s marketing ventures.

The main players of the affiliate marketing industry are:

– the merchant (the retailer)

– the network

– the affiliate (the publisher)

– the customer.

The various marketing methods used by affiliates include search engine optimization, paid search engine marketing, e-mail marketing, and display advertising. As far as compensation goes, most affiliate programs make use of revenue sharing or cost-per-sale (CPS). Some affiliate programs also use cost-per-action (CPA) and cost-per-click (CPC).

Before you can put your affiliate marketing strategy in effect, the very first thing that you should do is brainstorm your niche. This is a vital component of having a successful affiliate business. A niche is a market subset that serves as the focal point for a particular product or service. A niche seeks to satisfy specific market needs, which include the price, production quality, and the demographics of the targeted audience. To start, it is recommended to come up with three ideas for possible niches. Try to think of niches that you are interested in or passionate about. Ask yourself the following questions: What are your hobbies? What do you enjoy talking or learning about? What subjects do you have a broad knowledge of? Once you have answered these questions, you should be able to come up with a few ideas for possible niches.

Unfortunately, however, a niche that you are passionate about isn’t necessarily going to be a niche that will be highly profitable. In order to determine which niches are most likely to generate significant income, you need to track, test & tweak your affiliate campaigns. Learn how to do that without losing money by studying the Campaign blasts guide.
